The “2nd Annual Conference on Somali Studies” ACSOS 2016, organized by ISOS, was held in Mogadishu, Somalia, on 12-13 October 2016.The theme of this year was “Tahriib: A Journey of Hope and Death - Mapping the Drivers, Intentions, Impacts & Solutions”. The conference was attended by dozens of academicians, researchers, activists and public figures. The participants delivered number of paper presentations, speeches and panel discussions.

The annual conference on Somali studies provides a platform for researchers, academicians and practitioners in Somalia to explore deeply in significant topics with special consideration of the issues which are critical to the recovery and rebuilding of Somalia, a country emerging from a devastating civil war.
