The Institute for Somali Studies (ISOS) ranked in the top think tanks in Sub-Saharan Africa in the 2018 Global Go To Think Tank Index Reporthttps://t.co/NENulCN7cL by the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

The 2018 Think Tanks Report identifies and indexes 8,162 think tanks around the world, in which there are 612 think tanks in Sub-Saharan Africa while 93 of them work in Horn of Africa [Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Kenya] and the portion of Somalia is only six think tanks.

The Global Go To Think Tank Index is the largest, most comprehensive database of think tanks compiled by the Think Tank and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. The 2018 edition marks the 12^th anniversary of the Global Go To Think Tank Index Report.

ISOS is a research center within Mogadishu University established in 2001. It promotes analysis of key and contemporary issues and developments in Somalia, Horn of Africa, and the Somali communities in abroad. It focuses on issues which are critical to the recovery and rebuilding of Somalia.
