The 10th Annual Conference on Somali Studies (ACSOS2023) successfully concluded in Mogadishu from December 5th to 7th, 2023, under the theme, ‘Ten Years of Fostering Knowledge’. The event attracted participation from academics, scholars, researchers, activists, and government officials. It featured a rich program with research presentations, engaging panel discussions, insightful keynote speeches, and student poster presentations. The success of ACSOS2023 reaffirms its standing as a prominent academic platform.

Proudly hosted by Mogadishu University, Benadir University, and Hormuud University, ACSOS2023 reflects on a consistent decade of academic gatherings since its inception in April 2014. Organized by the Institute for Somali Studies (ISOS), ACSOS remains a vital space for sharing work, exchanging knowledge, and addressing critical issues in Somali studies. The 10th anniversary marks a decade of dedicated efforts in fostering academic excellence and collaboration within the Somali studies community.
