The 11th Annual Conference on Somali Studies (ACSOS2024), organizing by Institute for Somali Studies (ISOS) will take place in Mogadishu, Somalia, from December 10th to 12th, 2024.

Under the theme:  Engaged Citizens, Competent Institutions, Responsible Government

This year, ACSOS2024 is proudly hosted by Mogadishu University and Hormuud University. We work together to establish ACSOS2024 as an effective platform for knowledge exchange, fostering rich and inclusive discussions on diverse aspects of Somali studies to advance understanding and encourage knowledge production for a better future.

We warmly invite scholars, researchers, students, and enthusiasts to submit abstracts for presentations and panels. ACSOS2024 eagerly welcomes contributions spanning a wide spectrum of topics within the field of Somali studies.

Over the past decade, the ACSOS conference series has been an effective platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas in Somali studies. It has consistently promoted academic research and facilitated dialogues on Somali studies, serving as a forum that brings together scholars, academicians, decision-makers, researchers, experts, civil society activists, and public figures from diverse backgrounds and experiences to share their knowledge and insights.
